If you have a small house you have to make sure that you use every square inch optimally to store the things you don’t need to avoid clutter. There are many different ways to achieve this, but you might need some ideas.
Usually there is need for a lot of storage space in the bedroom – space that you might not have. As an idea you could use the space under the bed to store things. You can store here spare linen or get baskets and put things in them. In the same time you may also store books.
You have the possibility to store things in style with the right piece of furniture. You can buy a chest of this kind, but you also have the possibility to build one on your own. You just need the right materials for it. Make sure that the color of the chest matches the color scheme of the room.
It is common for the rugs and floors to be ruined by water and mud because of the wet clothes. In order to protect your home, think about a built-in piece of furniture made using plywood. This should have an open top shelf, flip-flop bench and coat hooks. This way people will be able to leave the weather behind when they enter the home.
An ottoman can also have several purposes. This can serve as a foot rest, extra seating, coffee table, and if it also has a lid, it can be used for storage as well. You can use it to store books or spare blankets. The upholstery can be personalized to match the color scheme of the rest of the house.
Countertop wine rack
If you are looking for something to store your wine bottles in, consider a wood planter. This is better than the wire racks and the small wood options because they look cheap. A wine rack of this kind needs only little space and you can easily make it on your own.
TV cabinet on the wall
In case you would like to conceal the TV that is installed on the wall, you could hide it behind a cabinet. It is best if the cabinet comes with bifold doors. You just make a simple frame and you can cut the doors from a single bifold door. The cabinet is easy to assemble and it is relatively cheap.
