The truth is that although they work for the majority of homes, the most people are reluctant about getting a white bookcase. This is a pity because they are more than versatile and you can use them to achieve a wide range of different looks, according to the style of your home.
Closed and Open Space
You can make sure that your white bookcase isn’t boring by alternating the open and closed storage space. All you have to do is to add doors to some of the shelves. In order to make the best of it, you should leave room for negative space as well. If you happen to have some room left on the top of the bookcase, don’t forget to use that as well.
Make it Pop
If you happen to have a dark wall color, you should be more than thrilled by having a white bookcase. This is because this way you achieve some contrast that will bring the bookcase into the center of attention. In order to enhance it further you may want to add some art to it. Pick some pieces to display on the shelves or on the top of the bookcase.
While the majority of people tend to have bookcases all the way up to the ceiling, you have to remember that they don’t have to be too high in order to have a high impact. If your bookcase is made of several pieces, you could place them besides each other instead of stacking them. This way you can create the illusion of more space in the room.
Horizontal and Vertical
The people with an eclectic personality side might not need everything to be in order. In this case there is the possibility to have vertical and horizontal stacks of books. If there are books it means that you are into reading and in this situation it is a must to have some comfortable seating around the bookcase where you can enjoy your favorite books.
In the Dining Room
You might think that the dining room is no place for a white bookcase, but you could be wrong. Don’t forget that basically speaking the bookcase offers you storage options and you can never have enough storage in your home. Use the bookcase to store books and magazines that you may read while you are having breakfast or that guests can entertain themselves with.
