In the majority of the cases when people hear about fairy lights, they instantly think about Christmas. It is true that usually that is the season when people use them, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t have fairy lights in your home as decoration all year round. This might be the best way to bring warmth to your home or to add some light to a dark corner.

Before you start using the lights, you should test them to make sure that they are working properly. In case you have to work with them, make sure that you unplug the lights first.
The next thing you have to do is to decide where you want to use the lights. As an example you could add them around a mirror or under the mantel of the fireplace. To hold the lights in place you could be using adhesive strip hooks or even a staple gun.
Bringing the stars home
It might be a good idea to surround the window with fairy lights to make it look like the stars are shining. No matter where you want to put the lights, make sure that there is an electric outlet nearby.
Another really good idea is to place the lights around the edges of the ceiling. In case we are talking about a larger room, you will require several strings of light. In the majority of the cases the independent strings can be attached together so that they will become longer.
There is no rule that you can’t place these lights in the kitchen. You could have them between the tops of the cabinets. This way you will be able to add some light to the places that in the majority of the cases are drenched in darkness.
As an idea for decoration, you could gather all the lights in one single place, such as a basket. You could also add some ornaments that would reflect the light. To get into a holiday feeling you could also include some dried fruits and pinecones.
You may see that there is a lot to do with these lights. While you can find on the market multicolored lights as well, in case of home decoration you should opt for the white ones to make sure that the feeling of the room won’t become too much or simply overwhelming.
