What’s the best thing about Halloween besides all the candies and chocolate? The decorations of course! These bring the Halloween spirit into our homes, and so you might also be thinking about adding some holiday decorations to the room of the little one as well.
Garlands
The good thing about garlands is that they are very easy to make. In order to decorate the little one’s room, you should make garlands with the silhouette of black cats. You can find such pictures in books, but you could also print them on the computer. All you need to do is to attach 10-12 cats to a 10 feet long yarn or ribbon. Naturally you could be using some other shapes or silhouettes as well, like ghosts, pumpkins or bats.
Monster
You also have the possibility to create a life-sized monster. In order to do so you will need paper, like newspaper or other kinds of craft paper.
Then you should have the child lie flat on the paper and trace the outline of the kid. After that just allow him or her to decorate the monster at will.
You could show some old posters with monsters like Frankenstein, Dracula, Werewolves and so on. Once the masterpiece is done, just hang it on the wall, an inch from the floor. To have an army of them, create several different monsters.
Giant eyeball
Another well-known feature of the holiday is the eyeball. This is really easy to replicate. All you need is a white ball, like a beach ball and some markers to actually draw the eyes. You could add a black pupil, an iris of the color of your choice, and also some veins to have bloodshot eyes. When drawing make sure that you are using permanent markers, otherwise the colors will be very easy to wipe off. You can hang the eyeball from the ceiling or place it on a table.
Pumpkin
Is there a better known symbol of Halloween than the pumpkin? This kind of decoration can be used all over the house, not only in the kids’ room. In case you don’t want to work with real pumpkins, you could opt for the decorations made of plastic that you can find in almost any store this time of year.
When you are thinking about decorations you have to consider the first thing that pops into your mind when you hear about Halloween.
