Whether it is due to reasons of belief in disciplines such as Feng Shui or just because you like the look and sound of a fountain, indoor water fountains can be an excellent design element to incorporate into an indoor space. Whether it is for the home or the office, indoor water fountains can make a bold statement that draws all eyes and becomes a focal point of the area.
Indoor water fountains can be of many different types; being as ornate and intricate as you may require or as simple and unadorned as you need them to be. They can be rather like works of art that not only look great, but the sound of running water can also be a tranquil and soothing resonance that creates a wonderful ambiance.
Some people also believe that flowing indoor water can help reduce allergic reactions and indoor pollution and can help one feel more relaxed and alert.
Though outdoor fountains may typically be bigger and require more space, indoor water fountains may be of the following different types –
Wall mounted indoor water fountains
These types of water fountains can take up an entire wall of a room or occupy a portion of the wall. These fountain types are very popular choices for foyers, lobbies, restaurants, offices and other public spaces but can also be an excellent choice for homes.
They can be made from different materials such as copper, stone, glass and other materials. Many are made expressly with Feng Shui principles in mind, to give out positive energy as prescribed.
Table top indoor water fountains
These again can offer a great deal of variety being round, or square in shape, having a single straight water fall stream or having several tiers and could be made with various different materials.
A lobby or hall area with a table top fountain in the corner can be greatly pleasing to the eye, a design element to draw all eyes and offer the pleasant sound of flowing water as well. These kinds of indoor water fountains are usually small in size, owing to the fact that they would typically be required to be placed on some sort of furniture, such as a desk, an occasional table and so on.
Floor indoor water fountains
These kinds of fountains are very versatile in that they don’t need to be placed on piece of furniture, or even against a wall. They can be placed in the center of a room if required or they can be in a corner or to the side of the room. Tiered fountains, straight ones where the water sheets down in a single stream, and aqueduct type designs are all designs one can find in floor indoor water fountains.
Indoor water fountains can be as contemporary or modern as you may require or they could be old fashioned and traditional in design. Whether it is a simple design or a more ornate one you like, water fountains can be a great idea in any set up.
