Although there are articles and websites by the hundreds out there in regards to home interiors it really isn’t that difficult and shouldn’t be at all overwhelming.
Home interiors can be as easy as thinking in terms of five areas; furniture, accent furniture, colors, structural design and Feng shui [feng shui tips].
And if you aren’t a spiritual person or aren’t ready to go the route of Feng shui quite yet you will only have four areas to concentrate on.
Don’t worry about all the fads and trends and everything you hear about home interiors and what you need to do to keep up with the trends, we have five simple areas for you here.
First of all furniture. Basically you just need to make sure your furniture is the right size for your house and the rooms the furniture occupies. Have fun with colors[color wheel] and shapes and modes of furniture, add a little of each to a room.
Second of all is the accent furniture. By accent furniture we mean lamps and vases, maybe a tiny table or two. Some people are of the mindset that less is more but when it comes to accent furniture you really can completely control the look and feel of a room with your choices.
Color is the single most easy and inexpensive way to completely change the look of a room, hallway, doorway, anything in your house. Colors add life and can make an area more intimate and cozy if that is the look and feel you are going for.
You can completely repaint rooms in your home or you can just opt to paint the trim a different color. Painting the trim a different color than the typical egg shell or off white will really make a room pop and be very unique.
Depending on how handy you are or if you have a handy man in your life you could consider structural changes to your home interior as well. Knocking down walls, creating windows and building an island in the kitchen are all ways to remodel your home interior through structural design.
Feng shui is another way to completely give your home a new feeling. Not everyone is into Feng shui so you may only have four main areas to concentrate on, however if you are interested in learning more about the Chinese philosophy of Feng shui, you should learn more about it and incorporate it into your home interiors.
