A good looking, well chosen display cabinet is not only a place to put stuff, but it is also a design accent that can greatly enhance the charm of a room. When choosing a glass cabinet, keep the following in mind:
- What is the size of the room and its dimensions? And what is the area in which you want the cabinet to be placed? The size of the cabinet should be proportionate to those requirements. If it id too large, it will look out of place; if too small, it will look insignificant. And remember, a cabinet made entirely of glass will appear larger and give the illusion of space, whereas a wooden one with glass inserts will appear less so.
- Do you require a cabinet for storage or display? If it is storage that you require, make sure that the cabinet you buy has drawers and some wooden cabinet doors. The ones that you require for display can have glass frontage.
- What is it you want to display in the display cabinet? If it is items like crystal wear, there should be adequate and focused lighting. If it is books you should be sure that the shelves or racks are strong and sturdy enough to bear the weight.
