2014 Tips to Fix Get Rid of Clutter

It is a known fact that people simply cannot relax if they are surrounded by clutter. This is why you should take the time to de-clutter your home. Most probably there are some sensitive spots that you have to address first to make sure that you do a thorough job.

Bedroom Closet

Laundry Room

Usually this is the messiest place of a house. Make sure that everything is organized. If you have a small space, you should add storage space to the walls. Add shelves above the washer and the dryer. You can also use cubes or baskets to organize things and to know where to look when you need something.

Kitchen Cabinets

It is a good idea to apply magnetic paint on the sides of the kitchen cabinets to keep track of shopping lists. Add hooks to the inside of the cabinets to store measuring spoons, pot holders, and ladles. It is also smart to have pot lid organizers and door-mounted spice racks.

Entertainment Center

First of all, you have to get rid of the items that you don’t need anymore. Then take control of the cables; make sure that they have the length that you need and secure them with twist ties. Store the CDs, DVDs, and video games in attractive boxes. Gather all the remotes in a basket on a coffee table.

Linen Closet

It is common for people to store all kinds of objects in the linen closet. This is why you have to get rid of everything that doesn’t have anything to do with the bed or the bathroom. Fold or roll the linens so that they will need less space. Keep the linen sets together by folding them or securing them with a ribbon.

Children’s Toys

It is difficult to make children understand the importance of keeping things in order. You should be looking for smart storage solutions, such as rolling bins. Shelves and wall-mounted baskets also work very well. Consider adding pictures to the bins and baskets so that the children will know where to put their toys.

Bedroom Closet

In order to make some space, you should move all the clothes from the previous season to another place. Then arrange the clothes to have easy access to those worn the most often. You can store the rarely used items in boxes or storage containers. Invest in relatively inexpensive hanging storage items to store the ties, belts, and scarves neatly.
