I make perfume for a living, including indoor fragrances for homes etc. The best fragrance to have 24/7? None. Allergies are incredibly common these days, and if someone has a small allergy exposing that person to the same allergen over and over - whether it's a perfume, flower, furniture polish - can actually increase the severity of the allergy over time because it reduces tolerance.

A fragrance that lasts for a few hours - or a few days - is great, but if you're planning on living with a scent, it's better for your nose and your immune system to switch off substances every so often.
